ESTUDO PRELIMINAR DA QUALIDADE DA ÁGUA NA CAPTAÇÃO DO RIO PIQUIRI - PEDRO VELHO/RN

Resumo

O Rio Piquiri está localizado na cidade de Pedro Velho/RN, e representa um importante manancial para de abastecimento para consumo humano. Atualmente não existem estudos relativos às variações na qualidade da água desse manancial, ao longo do ano e durante as estações de chuva e estiagem. Por tanto o objetivo desse trabalho é realizar um estudo preliminar, através do acompanhamento anual dos parâmetros alcalinidades, cloretos, ferro total, cor, turbidez e pH, a fim de se verificar essas possíveis alterações. Os resultados revelaram que, por se tratar de um manancial de certa forma protegido, especialmente na área onde foram coletadas as amostras, as alterações mais significativas nas características da água foi no tocante aos parâmetros cor e turbidez, pois, os mesmos, apresentaram valores bastante diferentes de acordo com a estação do ano, sobretudo causado por processos de carreamento de solo nas margens do rio.
